Event Overview
This is a self supported run/walk around a designated 6.4km loop of the Eskdale trail. The event will be running from 9am (April 12) until 9am (April 13) – you set your own goal to complete as many laps as you want within 24hrs. Whether you want to do just one lap or push to get a new distance PB, everybody is welcome. There will be a whiteboard setup for you to mark down a line by your name for every lap you complete. We encourage everyone to start at 9am together but if you can’t make it until later you are still welcome to participate.
All typical Kauri dieback protocol will apply, A basic wash station is provided at start and spray/scrub at all permanent stations throughout the course please.

Course description
6.4km, approx. 120m elevation gain
The Eskdale trail is 100% runnable with a notable climb near the halfway point followed by an equally long downhill immediately after reaching the highest point. During winter there are sections of the trail that get quite muddy and borderline require trail shoes but in general this course can be completed with road running shoes. There will be clear course markings in place to ensure nobody gets lost.

Public transport
From the shore the best bus is the 941, from the CBD its either the 97B or the 933 – check www.at.govt.nz to see what route best suits you.
Parking
Nearby street parking is available on Lauderdale road, Levesque Street and Ivy Place. Other roads on the route of the run are Chedworth Drive and Stephanie Close although these are roads are close to the event base please note they are about 3-4km from Lauderdale road by car.

There will be some water available for participants but this will be very limited, if you are planning on going longer than a few hours please bring your own supplies.
